The National Weather Service has a new local observer for Kosciusko County. Ronald Sellers, of Winona Lake, has been given the duties. Sellers will be one of 200 local stations in Indiana and 11,000 in the U.S. Sellers will document local precipitation.
YMCA divers Bill Rosenkranz, Hal Smith and Mike Stahly traveled to the Y state diving championships last weekend and came home with a pair of first places and a third. Rosenkranz won the 15 and over age group, Smith the 13-14 age group and Stahly took third in the 11-12 group.
Attending a statewide conference on youth welfare at the Broadway Methodist Church, Indianapolis, were Mrs. Rene Nine, county nurse, Mrs. Charlotte McSweeny, probation officer, Mrs. Willodean Kincaide, county welfare director, L.N. (Pete) Thorn, city attendance officer and director of the Boys club, all of Warsaw, and Wayne Tombaugh, of Mentone, district executive of the Boy Scouts and a Methodist youth leader.
Lee Yoder, a farmer near North Webster, certainly cannot complain of not getting very much for what he produces. He brought three sheep to Warsaw, took them to Henry Herscher, and the latter gave him in exchange for the three sheep a 1921 Ford roadster and a 1919 Ford roadster, Farmer Yoder driving the machines away on their own power.
