Frank Conklin, Goshen, formerly of Warsaw, was given an award by the Goshen Exchange Club at a dinner meeting last week. Citizens considered for these awards are measured by length and voluntary service given to the community, thus making his name eligible to be placed in the "Book of Golden Deeds."
Warsaw experienced the heaviest rainfall of the year Friday afternoon, as a heavy wind whipped the downpour into stores and shops, damaging property and causing water-soaked pedestrians to run for cover. In the rural district, trees and limbs were felled by the terrific wind, which reached proportions of 80 miles per hour at some places.
Notice is hereby given that there is an ordinance in the City of Warsaw against the disposition of waste paper in the streets and alleys unless the same is put in a solid and substantial retainer to be gathered by the city wagons. The ordinance also provides a penalty for the sweeping of dirt from storerooms into the streets.
