    The Viking Winter Guard of Tippecanoe Valley High School, Mentone, was named class B (8-14) members) state champ at the IHSCGA state finals.

The color guard at Warsaw Community High School placed fifth in the state among class A (15-22 members) teams.

March 25 1975

    Whitko High School students, Doug Wise, a senior, and Sam Moffitt, a junior, were winners of the Future Farmers of America Quiz on WKJG-TV, Fort Wayne, recently. The boys were presented with a trophy. Their advisor is Bill McVey.

Doug is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wise, Warsaw. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Moffitt, South Whitley, are the parents of Sam.

    A WRSW listener in Atwood, Mrs. Kenneth Yeiter, guessed the correct name of the Home Furniture Mart's mystery march on the program, "Beat the Band."

Yeiter, after correctly identifying the tune as the "Belphegor March," told WRSW announcer Jack Essenburg that she would probably buy a new bedroom suite with her winnings.

    "Soiled Wings" is the name of a gripping story appearing in the April Woman's Home Companion, just out, of which Howard Brubaker, son of John H. Brubaker, is the author. Brubaker is a brother to Attorney Walter Brubaker of this city, and a native Warsawan.
