A local band will be taking its music on the road as it travels to Piere's, Fort Wayne, to open for "The Guess Who."
Andy Camp, a Washington School sixth-grader and the 11-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Camp, Warsaw, won the county elementary spelling bee contest for the second year in a row Tuesday night. Kelly Manahan, a Lincoln School fifth-grader, was runner-up.
Donna McSweeney, Syracuse, Sharon Williamson, Burket, Sarah Eber, Rochester, and Arlene Welty, Nappanee, were among 35 student nurses of the South Bend Memorial Hospital School of Nursing who received caps Saturday night in ceremonies in the First Methodist Church marking the completion of six months of intensive training and the beginning of their clinical practice.
ROCHESTER - No permits to carry revolvers will be issued in Fulton County, from this time forward, Judge R.R. Carr and Sheriff Ora Clark have decreed. Under a law which was passed by the 1929 legislature to secure a permit to carry a revolver, it must be necessary for the judge of the circuit court and the sheriff to approve the application. Both officials state that they do not think it necessary for any citizen of the county to carry revolvers.
