    Swearing in of the town's new police officer took place at the Tuesday meeting of the Syracuse Town Board. Jim Felkner, former deputy marshall at North Webster, began his duty at Syracuse Wednesday. He replaces Danny Gallmeier, who resigned in January.

    The Nappanee Kiwanis I Club has announced the selection of two NorthWood High School students who will be attending the fourth annual Indiana State Police - Kiwanis International Career Camp.

They are Julie Biever, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Biever and Jerry Ryman, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Ryman.

    Organization of North Webster's 4-H club for 1948 got under way this week.

Completion pins for club work were awarded. Bronze pins went to Margaret McPhail, Elaine Bowman, June Gomar, Frances Likens, Carol Martin, Lorene Mauzy; a silver pin was given to Effie Himes; and gold pin awards went to Shirley Koher and Patricia Koher.

    Hundreds and hundreds of eggs were pouring into Warsaw today and yesterday. Local groceries and dealers were paying 22 cents per dozen while outside of Warsaw the price was reported as 18 cents. As a result Warsaw was getting an unusual amount.
