    A pair of championship performances by Joe Beeson highlighted action in the Indiana Senior Indoor Tennis Tournament held at the Warsaw Racquet Club March 18-20.

Beeson, the owner of the Warsaw Racquet Club and one of the top senior players in the country, won the 60-over singles title. He also won the 55-over doubles title, teaming with Jack Sanders of Elkhart.

    The entire staff at He & She Professional Hair Designing, Warsaw, consisting of Deb Mann, Diane Yeiter, Jeannine Farrell, Wanda and John Tobias, recently attended a two and one-half day scientific seminar held in Louisville, Ky.

Sponsored by Redken Laboratories, leaders in hair products research and development, the event featured prominent hair designers from across the country.

March 23 1954

    Town of Mentone committees were putting the finishing touches on the festive plans for Wednesday night dedication of the new wing of the Mentone School.

Aircraft manufacturer Lawrence Bell will return to the scene of his childhood to make one of his very rare public appearances for the event. Bell, builder of the first super-sonic airplane and a leader in the guided missile field, will speak at the meeting which is open to the general public.

    NORTH MANCHESTER - Esther Pfleiderer, a junior from Warsaw, has been selected editor-in-chief of Oaks Leaves, the college paper of Manchester College.

She is this year's business manager of the annual publication, "The Aurora." She is a member of the Science Club and has maintained a high scholastic standing during her three years at college.
