When Chase Ryan Estepp was born, his parents knew that they were expecting a big baby, but they never imagined one quite so large.
Four area ladies were recently awarded certificates for their unselfish devotion in helping the residents at the Warsaw Nursing Home, East Center Street. Harriet Williamson, activity director at the home, presented certificates to Sarah Bryant, who has given 88 hours of her time; Dorothy Smith, 70 hours; Iva Lozier, 56 hours; and Nellie Musser, 38 hours. Not present for the certificates were Louise Howser, 90 hours, and Frances Groninger, 10 hours.
Glendys Wagner presided during the business session at the meeting of Girl Scout Troop No. 6 at the East Ward School building. Mrs. Lewis Longbrake, troop leader, and Sue Shaffer, co-leader, were in charge. The snack treat was served by Vivian Blue.
Of eight men selected for the honorary all-regional basket ball team, Milford grabbed three places, with H. Schultz and R. Schultz winning two forward positions, and Miller picking off the honors at guard. It would be impossible, says a Fort Wayne sports writer, to pick the team without placing the two Schultz brothers and Miller, of Milford, on the first squad.
