    The honors keep pouring in for longtime sheep farmer Rudy Ross. The 93-year-old rural Sidney farmer received his third award in being chosen by the Livestock Breeders Association to become inducted into the Purdue Agricultural Hall of Fame.

    If living in a castle is exciting, spending nine months studying in a castle could only be a more rewarding experience. And that is exactly what a Warsaw student has found. Robert G. "Bob" Walmer, 20-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Walmer, 1332 Country Club Drive, Warsaw, has spent most of his sophomore year with the University of Evansville in Harlaxton Manor, an English castle and manor built in 1837.

March 21 1947

    Four Syracuse hunters, with the assistance of one hound, bagged 30 red foxes this winter and received bounties at $5 per animal, totaling $150. The men were Devon Moore, Carl Walker, Lamar Linderman and Johnnie Fisher. Twenty-six of the foxes were killed in Kosciusko County and four in Elkhart County.

    The Warsaw company of state militia will use the new community building five nights each month. Under an agreement entered into with the state, the state will pay light, fuel and water bills at all times, in lieu of a monthly rental.
