The scene is a familiar one - cars traveling on U.S. 30 come to a screeching halt and then back up to go north on CR 700W to get a second look at a pack of llamas in a field off the highway. Margaret and Ray Williamson own 30 llamas that they raise and sell. The animals are described as quiet, clean and not difficult to feed.
A Winona Lake chiropractic physician, Dr. Robert M. Schneider, has entered a two-man race for the Republican nomination as state senator from District 13 in the May 2 primary election. Dr. Schneider will oppose incumbent John Augsburger of Milford.
1947 Mentone Egg Show queen Phyllis Latta, of near Warsaw, is an accomplished little gal and a genuine farmer to boot. Senior in Warsaw High School, Phyllis is a member of the Girls' Athletic Club, on staff paper, warbles with Glee Club, and much more. May her reign over the eggbasket of the middle west in 1947 be a happy, successful one.
The gasoline-motor railway coach built by the Service Truck Company of Wabash made a second test trip over the Big Four. It arrived in Warsaw at noon en route to Benton Harbor, Mich. The car is nearly as large as the interurbans in use in this part of the country, except that it is not quite as high. It is designed much like the electric cars, and finished in green and gray.
