    Army Pvt. Chad Shaffner, son of Steven and Carolyn Shaffner, Warsaw, has graduated from the basic field artillery cannoneer course at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

During the course, students were taught the duties of a Howitzer or gun section crewman. They also received instruction in communications, maintenance and handling ammunition and explosives.

    Warsaw Elks Lodge No 802 has named Paul Michael Miller as "Teenager of the Month."

Miller, 18, and a senor at Warsaw High School, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Miller, 206 E. Center St.

    Janice Nelson is Mentone High School's Homemaker of Tomorrow.

Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Delford Nelson, of Burket, demonstrated her homemaking knowledge and attitude receiving the highest score for her school in written examination given all senor girls throughout the country. Her test paper will be entered in competition with 411 school winners in the state.

    Stanley Baker, son of Trustee Baker of Bourbon Township, Marshall County, has been awarded a Rector scholarship at DePauw University.
