    At least four area infants won't be celebrating their first birthdays until 1992, having the distinction of being born on leap year day. Kosciusko Community Hospital reports three girls, Emily Kunish, Elizabeth Kiser and Ashley McLin, and a boy, Joshua Stahl, were born on the day which comes around only once every four years.

March 2 1973

    Brent Myers, 12, of the sixth grade at Jefferson School, Winona Lake, received first place during the recent science fair held at the school. His project was, "What is Electro Polishing?" Brent will take his project to Notre Dame, South Bend, on March 24 to compete in the regional science fair.

March 2 1948

    Announcement was made today by Ray Korth, owner of the Warsaw Furniture Manufacturing Co., 208 N. Hitzler St. (west side Pike Lake), of the purchase of the buildings and grounds of the old Warsaw canning factory. Commonly known today as the Cruikshank pickle plant, it is located adjacent to and south of the firm's present factory.

    Thermometers in Warsaw Friday registered 65 degrees and the day was the warmest March 2 since 1878, when the temperature was 61. A drop in the temperature is predicted for tonight and Sunday.
