    Wawasee MVP's and blanket award winners were Dana Reinhold (MVP, gymnastics), Jamie Emmert (blanket), Carly Beer (MVP, girls' basketball), Leisa Church, Beth Boggs, Ashkea Judd, Gina Hollar and Kara Singrey, (cheerleading blankets), Laura Grothaus (blanket), Vince Beasley (MVP, boys' basketball) and Zach Lash (MVP, wrestling).

    Agnes Pruyn Chapman chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, announces the recipients of the annual Good Citizen Award. This award is based on dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.

The Warsaw Community High School recipient is Kathleen Kordesh, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Kordesh, of Warsaw. Wawasee High School and Kosciusko County Good Citizen Award winner is Richard Steele, son of the Rev. and Mrs. Paul Steele, of Syracuse.

March 16 1955

    Bill Carey, South Whitley contractor, and Principal John Smith were present as Jackson Township Trustee Joseph Michael broke ground for construction of a new six-room school building at Sidney. The new grade school will be erected just east of the present Sidney School building.

March 16 1930

    SYRACUSE - Harriett Bachman, a freshman in Syracuse High School, won the inter-class spelling contest at the high school, which brought her $5 in cash and the champion spelling pennant to her class. Bachman spelled down the last four contestants on the word Kaleidoscope, after two hours on the floor.
