    HUNTINGTON - Huntington North guard Jim Hall scored six pointed on a pair of 3-pointers off the dribble in the final seven seconds Saturday night. But they were not enough.

Warsaw guard Matt Horin had already done enough damage with a trio of treys in the third quarter and a 6-7 display from the free throw line in the final frame to help the Tigers win the Huntington North Regional 55-54.

    Structural steel beams were placed this week for the new Warsaw Post Office under construction at the intersection of West Market and South Columbia streets. The 15,000 square foot facility is expected to be completed and ready for occupancy this fall.

    Tippecanoe has once again been put on the map. This time by the accomplishments of Tippecanoe High School girls' trio, Mary Fites, Ruth Weissert and Charlene Fites. The trio, who sang in the Indiana State Music contest which was held a week ago Saturday at Butler University in Indianapolis, received word this week that they had won a superior rating in the contest.

    The girls employed at the Warsaw Overall Factory on Monday noon enjoyed a birthday surprise dinner for Marie Gilbertson, Alice Newcomer and Grace Smith, all of whom had birthdays last week. There were three beautiful birthday cakes. About 30 enjoyed the dinner.
