Darrell and Priscilla Slone of Silver Lake were the winners of the Dream Vacation Home Package at the Fort Wayne Home and Garden Show. The grand prize, valued at more than $85,000, includes a log home from Thomas Log Homes of Markle on a wooded lot at Lime Lake in Steuben County, a hot tub from NISCO Spa Paradise, a barbecue grill and food cart from Gerber Fireplace and Barbecue Shop, and window treatments from Eaglecrest.
Several women have bowled 600 series at Gilliam Lanes this season. They are Betty Young, Ann Blair, Barbara Drudge, Kay Parrett, Julie Newsome, Evelyn Julian, Jeannette Bradway, Marshal Miller, Norene Stolte, Judy Burnau, Elaine Piper, Bonnie White and Donna Kinch.
Mrs. Emerson Nicewander, of North Manchester, the mother of four children and wife of a Manchester College professor, was one of the nine first-prize winners in the "Sew-for-September" contest sponsored by Parent's Magazine.
