    Two Subway employees at the North Detroit Street store were recently given service honors. Bill Humphries, development agent for Subway, presented first place awards to Roberta Gregory, owner of the local Subway, for outstanding dedication, attitude and achievement, and Kimm Dock, for outstanding customer service in 120 stores in north Indiana and northwest Ohio.

    The Mentone School has entered the Fort Wayne area Spelling Bee, and a champion has been selected from the fifth and sixth grades, and from the seventh and eighth grades.

The winner of the fifth-sixth grade contest was Tom Long, son of Mr. and Harold Long, and the winner of the seventh-eighth grade contest was Lanette Hanes, daughter of Mrs. Mary Hanes, and eighth- grader.

    New officers of the Atwood Future Farmers of America Chapter were installed at a meeting held in the assembly period at the high school.

Those installed included Maurice Baumgartner, president; Robert Gerber, vice president; Lane Hoffer, assistant; Larry Hoffer, treasurer; John Truex, assistant; Don Pfahler, secretary; Jim Earl, assistant; Alan Rovenstine, reporter; Don Miller, assistant; Robert Myers, sentinel; Larry Thomas, assistant; Howard Kiser, adviser for the chapter.

    Polly Torrence, of Marion and Lake Wawasee, was awarded the honor of second most beautiful co-ed at DePauw University.
