    WINONA LAKE - Glen Johnson recently was hired as the new head baseball coach at Grace College.

For 11 years, Johnson has been an assistant coach at Taylor High School along with being an associate scout for the Atlanta Braves.

March 12 1980

    The doors will be closed temporarily at Warsaw License Bureau, 120 W. Market St., because of a fire that caused an estimated $100,000 damage to the office.

The fire, which damaged only two back rooms, caused extensive heat and smoke damage to the license office.

50 Years Ago

March 12 1955

    Mary Helen Longenecker, of Atwood High School, has won the title of "Homemaker of Tomorrow" at the Atwood School. She will be entered in competition to name this state's candidate for the title of "All-American Homemaker of Tomorrow." She will also receive a golden award pin, cook books for herself and the school.


75 Years Ago

March 12 1930

    Virginia Kelly, of this city, student at Butler University at Indianapolis, will present a musical specialty number at the St. Patrick party to be given at the University by the Scarf Club, a college organization. Kelly, who is a sophomore at the college, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Kelly, of South Buffalo Street, of this city.
