Kosciusko County's Cattlemen of the Year Award was presented to the Richard Sommers family of Silver Lake recently at the annual cattlemen's meeting. The Sommers raise registered Angus cattle on their rural Silver Lake farm with 20 to 25 animals at the farm normally.
The winner of the local competition for the 1977 Knights of Columbus public speaking contest held recently at Sacred Heart School was Terry Muir. Second place was awarded to Dawn Vanhook. Both girls are from Triton High School.
