    John Butler, son of Bruce and Jane Butler of Warsaw, was recently inducted into the Golden Key National Honor Society.

Butler, who graduated from Warsaw Community High School in 1992, is a fourth-year student at Purdue University. He is majoring in engineering technology.

    Appointments to Times-Union management and editorial posts were announced by Michael R. Williams.

Norman L. Hagg, Times-Union managing editor for eight years, has been named general manager of the newspaper and Radio Stations WRSW. City Editor Tom Swenson becomes managing editor and columnist Charlotte Marie Butler is named an associate editor on the news staff.

    Four area couples have become parents of Leap Year sons, born in Warsaw hospitals yesterday.

They are: Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Maish, of 1203 E. Market St.; Mr. and Mrs. Bob Fidler, of 421 W. Fort Wayne St.; Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Konkle, of Route 2, Warsaw; and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lackey, of near Claypool.

    Four Latin pupils in the Warsaw high school won honorary places in the county high school Latin contest held at the local high school. Winners in the contest were: Latin I, Mary Alice Harmon, Pierceton, first, and Elizabeth Hines, Warsaw, second; Latin II, Marybelle Lentz, Milford, first, and Mary Alice Phend, also of Milford, second; Virgil, Allan Eister, Warsaw, first, Agnes Jane Duncan and Wilda Mellencamp, both of Warsaw, tied for second.
