    Rick Dilling, 10, a sixth-grade pupil at Washington Elementary School, recently placed first in the region and 21st in the state on a statewide math test. The best score in the state was 38, and Rick had a score of 35. Rick is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Dilling.

    Warsaw Tigers finished one-two in the battle for conference medalist honors during the NLC golf tourney at Maxwelton. Ted Pinnick carded a 73 for runner-up medalist honors; Denny Hepler, league medalist with a 72; and Wawasee's Bob Bauman nailed down the number five medalist spot at 75.

    The geodetic survey camp at the county fairgrounds has been broken and the crew has gone to the North Manchester area to continue operations, according to Milo Maloy, county fair manager. At one time, eight trucks and some five house-trailers were located at the fairgrounds.
