    Karla Moore has been named prosecutor's investigator by Kosciusko County Prosecutor David Kolbe.

Moore replaces Stanley Holderman, who recently resigned from the position after 15 years.

June 6 1981

    Army Spec. 4 David T. Avery, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester D. Avery, Warsaw, participated in Border Star 81, a U.S. Readiness Command exercise that practiced air defense tactics in a desert environment in Texas and New Mexico.

Avery is a Hawk missile crew member with the 65th Air Defense Artillery at Fort Bliss, Texas.

June 6 1956

    Dave Burke was named by the Warsaw School Board to succeed Dick Beck next year as head track coach at Warsaw High School.

Burke, 24, graduated from Warsaw High School in 1951 and from Purdue University a year ago. This past school year he served as assistant varsity football coach, second team basketball coach and aided Beck in track.

    At a water battle, held at Columbia City between the Hodges brothers, representing Warsaw firemen, and a team of the Columbia City firemen, the Warsaw team won by a score in points of 7 to 3.
