    Robert Lozier was named president of the board for Milk Promotion Services of Indiana Inc. at their recent annual meeting in Indianapolis.

Lozier, a dairy producer, is from Warsaw. He has served on the MPSI board since it was chartered in 1985. He is also a director for Associated Milk Producers Inc./Morning Glory Farms Region.

    Frederick William Schmitt II, of 312 Porter St., has been awarded the designation of Knight of the York Cross of Honour. This honorary degree, highest in the York Rite of Freemasonry, is conferred only on those who have held the highest office in each of the four bodies of the rite.

    Charles Ker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Ker, Warsaw, has been awarded freshman numerals in baseball at DePauw University, according to word received today from Raymond R. Neal, director of athletics.

Ker, former star pitcher for Warsaw High School, was a member of the DePauw squad which won six, lost six, and tied one during the 1953 season.

    Mrs. Donald Lessig was hostess on Monday evening to members of her bridge club. Mrs. Albert Miner assisted in the entertaining. Mrs. Elva Hudson won first prize and Mrs. Everett Anglin second. Mrs. Fred McKown and Mrs. Lee Norman Thorne were awarded guest prizes.
