    The National Consortium of Breast Centers Inc. recently announced Connie Rufenbarger has been elected as secretary/treasurer for the organization. Rufenbarger is a patient advocate with Clinical Gynecology Inc. and Breast Diagnostics, Warsaw.

She is also co-captain of Indiana Breast Cancer Coalition and is involved with other breast cancer organizations.

June 5 1979

    The horse barn at the Kosciusko County Fairgrounds in Warsaw became a "roaring inferno" as flames swept through the structure, destroying three boats and resulting in minor injuries to two Winona Lake firemen.

Although it is only two months before the start of the 63rd Annual Kosciusko County Fair, two fair officials say the show will still go on.

June 5 1954

    After 34 years of teaching in public schools, Mrs. Erba (Beigh) Morrison, of Claypool, recently retired. She taught at Vawter Park in 1913, at Mount Pleasant, Claypool, Wabash West Ward, and then returned to Claypool, where she has been the primary class instructor since 1931. During the past year her only granddaughter, Vicki Rae Ford, was among her 41 pupils.

June 5 1929

    Milo Strombeck, of North Webster, trustee of Tippecanoe Township, who a year ago required that all women teachers employed by him should wear their skirts six inches below their knees, at the meeting of the county board of education Monday presented all of the trustees with a yardstick. However, it should be said that Strombeck was advertising a brand of cement for which he is agent.
