    Howard Woodward, Warsaw, is presented a 1989 Pontiac Grand AM SE as the winner of Petro's GM Showplace's 500 Sale. Ten individuals were drawn and given a key that could unlock the door. The nine non-winners were given their choice of gifts or cash off of a car purchase.

June 4 1980

    James Heaton, 100, recently was honored by Colonel Sanders of Kentucky Fried Chicken as the Senior Citizen of the Year for Warsaw. The awards program was initiated two years ago on behalf of Colonel Harland Sanders, who founded Kentucky Fried Chicken at the age of 65. The awards go to senior citizens, like Heaton, who have continued to work for the improvement of their community since the age of 65.

June 4 1955

    Sfc. Boyden C. Tibbitts, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel C. Tibbitts, recently was awarded the Good Conduct medal in Korea while serving with the 7th infantry division.

Tibbitts, an operations sergeant in the 2nd battalion's headquarters company of the division's 17th infantry regiment, received the decoration for his exemplary behavior, efficiency and fidelity.

    DELAWARE, Ohio - Carolyn R. Wones, 719 E. Fort Wayne St., Warsaw, has been elected vice president of the Ohio Wesleyan University chapter of Delta Sigma Rho, national forensic honorary fraternity. Wones was only recently initiated into this organization which elected six men and seven women for membership this year.
