    Dane Miller was presented a service award by Wayne Hendrix, president of Kosciusko Community Hospital, and Bill Fackler, chairman of the KCH board. Miller is retiring from the hospital board after serving since 1984.

    Deloris Heffner of Ace Hardware, Warsaw, was recently awarded a Certificate of Achievement by Gary Wright, President of National Bridal Service. for successfully completing a bridal seminar program recently held at the Hyatt Regency "O'Hare" Hotel, Chicago, Ill.

    Barbara Ann Longenecker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Longenecker, Leesburg, will be among the 83 members of the senior class of the School of Nursing at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis, to receive diplomas June 8.

Longenecker was graduated in 1948 from Leesburg High School and attended Manchester College, North Manchester, for a year.

    NORTH MANCHESTER - "Abraham Lincoln was the ugliest and saddest man I ever saw."

This is the description of the Great Emancipator given by Mrs. D.A. Kuhn of this city, who sat on the platform at Gettsyburg when President Lincoln made his famous address. Kuhn, now 86, was a singer of local repute during the civil war and familiar with a number of notables of both the south and north.
