June 30 1994

    Warsaw got a visit from a real wienie Tuesday. A 23-foot orange hot dog on wheels seemed to attract quite a bit of attention as it rolled through the streets.

The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile - maneuvered by Warsaw's Ashley White - was here to do a little hotdoggin'. White was recently chosen to be one of 12 hotdoggers who travel around the country in a Wienermobile promoting Oscar Mayer.

June 30 1979

    Brad Van Kirk, 17, won first place in his flight - the treasurer's flight - last week in the State Junior Golf Championship at Lafayette. Of the 209 boys who started the week-long event, 16 competed in the treasurer's flight after qualifications.

Van Kirk, a senior at Whitko, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Van Kirk, Warsaw.

June 30 1954

    Jack Snell, Robert "Chick" Moore and Phil Weaver, Warsaw High School students, will leave this evening by bus for New York. where they will board the motor ship Seven Seas, sailing next Saturday for Europe.

All three will spend the summer with German families, under sponsorship of the American Field Service.

    A.H. Upson seems to have an awful lot of writing to do these days. At any rate, he is always pulling a brand-new, beautiful jade fountain pen out of his pocket. And here is the secret of his proud exhibition of this new fountain pen. Upson, who is the Watkins man for this locality, just won it in a sales contest being conducted by the J.R. Watkins Co. for his large volume of sales on their vanilla, which was just awarded the grand prize with gold medal at the International Exposition held in Paris.
