    LAPORTE - Natalie Wallin, a member of the Kosko Kippers Gymnastics Team, captured a state YMCA gymnastics championship in the Class IV, Advanced Division held in LaPorte.

Wallin scored 8.6 on the vault and 9.1 on the floor to place first in both of those events en route to the all-around championship with a total score of 33.3. Wallin, who also placed fourth on the balance beam, was crowned as the state all-around champion in her age level.

    Navy Foreman Apprentice Frederick L. Harpham Jr., son of Frederick L. Harpham Sr., Silver Lake, has returned from an extended deployment in the western Pacific.

He is a crew member aboard the tank landing ship USS San Bernardino, homeported in San Diego. While deployed, his ship operated as a unit of the U.S. Seventh Fleet.

    Mrs. Cecil Armstrong, Mrs. Robert Moore, Dorothy Lower and Mrs. Glenn Snellenberger, members of the Warsaw branch of the American Association of University Women, attended a workshop for board members of the Indiana AAUW branches held at the Union Building at Butler University. Armstrong is the retiring president of the Warsaw branch, Moore and Lower, the incoming president and secretary, respectively, and Snellenberger is the radio chairman.

    David Clarence Allen, instructor in the Warsaw High School during the year 1926-27, is writing a book to be published under the auspices of Indiana University. The contents of the book will contain the subjects which are taken most often for topics of talks by people who are not professional orators, also what type of people speak the most and what occupation of people are attracted to public speaking.
