    Jerry E. Black, Larry E. Cassell, Clyde W. Lattea and Jerry J. Leiter celebrated their 25th anniversaries with Zimmers Inc., a division of Bristol-Myers Squibb. Awards for recognition of their service were presented, and they were thanked for their years of service and contributions toward making Zimmer the world's leading manufacturer of orthopedic products.

    MUNCIE - Eve Welty, Etna Green junior at Ball State University, was given a Program Director's Award from Gov. Otis R. Bowen for her work with the university's Student Voluntary Services.

A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Welty, she also received a certificate of appreciation for her work.

    Carolyn Sue Salyer, 16, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Grant Salyer, is the candidate chosen by student vote to represent Claypool High School in the county fair queen contest sponsored by Alpha Beta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Salyer, who will be a senior next fall, has blue eyes and red hair, is 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs 100 pounds.
