For the first time in the history of Winona Lake, a period of 35 years, the gates at the entrance of the park were thrown open to the public this morning. This was made possible by the Warsaw Chamber of Commerce pledging the sale of 1,200 tickets and of this number already more than 900 have been sold. It is estimated that 5,000 were at the park Sunday.

For a number of years the directors have wanted to throw the gates open to the public, but considered it too great a risk financially. Through the assistance of the local Chamber of Commerce, this action was made possible.
