    Another poster designed by an area student has been selected to be displayed in Indianapolis. The poster dealt with ecology and was designed by Janina Harman, a third-grade student at Atwood Elementary. Her parents are Duane and Connie Harman, rural Leesburg.

The poster is on display at the Children's Museum of Art until the end of June. The National Wildlife Federation sponsored the event.

    Lisa Konkle hit a two-run double to provide the 5-4 winning margin for the Grasshoppers over the Bumble Bees. Annette Lackey led the Bumble Bee hitting with a home run. Michelle Byers was the winning pitcher while Maryer Roberson was the loser.

June 27 1950

    The Ewert twins, Susan and Sarah, won the first elimination contest of the bathing beauty contest held at the Lake Theater in Warsaw. The two girls, both 1950 graduates of Warsaw High School, will compete in the finals of the contest at the theater. The final winner will represent Warsaw in the Mermaid Festival queen contest at North Webster.

    The thriller of thrillers, "Galloping Vengeance," is playing at Centennial Theatre, starring Bob Custer. Children under 12, 10 cents; adults, in the balcony, 15 cents; and on the main floor, 20 cents. Playing at the Strand Theatre is Buffalo Bill Jr. in "Hard Hittin' Hamilton."
