Tisha Pletcher of Pierceton has been selected to attend The National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. Having demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and citizenship, Pletcher will be among 350 outstanding high school students from across the nation at the conference sponsored by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council.
Queen of Lakes Joann Rassi, Milford, awarded the Mermaid Festival trophy for swimsuit competition in the Queen of Lakes pageant to Ann Nyberg, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. J.W. Nyberg, South Bend.
Pfc. Russel Thomas, 22, son of Mrs. Ada Thomas, Route 4, Warsaw, is assigned to an ordnance unit in Korea. His job is a clerical one and involves a lot of typing.
Troas Minear delightfully entertained the members of the bridge club of which she is a member. Mrs. Joe Irwin was presented with first prize, and Mrs. Norval Yarger, second. Following an evening of card playing, the guests were served a dainty luncheon.
