    Tippecanoe Valley held its baseball awards banquet at the high school recently.

Mervin Jones was named Most Valuable Player and top RBI man (41), while Jay Craig was named captain and won the Mental Attitude Award. Jeff Gray was named Most Improved. Greg Prater had the top average (.400); Kim Lee won the Gold Glove honor (.986); Scott Warstler had the low ERA (2.98); and Ryan Bowers had the most assists (31).

    Mrs. Dale Roberts, of 430 Parkway Drive, Syracuse, received the keys to the 1967 Ford she won following the tent sale held by C.S. Myers Ford, Milford. Presenting the keys was Chuck Myers, of the automobile agency.

    Jack Sumpter, Bob Henderson, Ferrel Braillier, Bob Schrader and Bob Felter, of this city, are driving to Chicago, Ill., Sunday to see a double header baseball game between the Chicago Cubs and the Boston Braves.

June 26 1925

    A loose horse today raced through Warsaw down the Pennsylvania tracks westward at 7 a.m., neck and neck with a west bound freight train. The animal passed through Warsaw and had then traveled probably two miles. The engineer had great sport trying to outdistance the horse. Efforts of a Warsaw man to stop the horse failed. He was still racing when last seen leaving Warsaw westward.
