Vern G. Lansberry, of 411 E. Fort Wayne St., has received first place for having the healthiest fruit trees and nicest berries in this county. Each year an inspector makes a tour of the state and judges the fruit of all owners, who are using a certain solution in killing insects and protecting their fruit. Three prizes are issued in each county yearly, one when the fruit is judged in the month of June, one in September and one when the apples are ripe.
