    1958 Warsaw High School graduate John Berry has been appointed artist-in-residence at Grand Canyon College in Phoenix, Ariz. Berry's professional writing tally exceeds 500 works, 100 of which have been published internationally by Jenson Publications Inc., New Berlin, Wis. As director of jazz studies, he will develop and administer the college's entire jazz and contemporary commercial music curriculum.

    Six women collected top honors in the 18-hole Land-O-Lakes golf tourney held at Tippecanoe. They were Vicki Arnolt, low net; Fredal Wolfram, low net; RoseMary Amos, low net; Hazel Swihart, low putts; June Auer, low putts; and Mavis Vanderveer, low gross. Vanderveer fired an 85 to capture top tourney honors.

    Virginia Ellis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Ellis, of near this city, went to Indianapolis to attend orientation week for students entering the Indiana University school of nursing at Robert Long Hospital. Ellis was graduated this year from the Warsaw High School.

June 25 1923

    Mrs. Newton Howe, of Winona Lake, landed 24 big blue gills in one hour's fishing at Winona Lake. Many fine catches of blue gills and bass have been reported in the past few days. Blue gills are biting fine on worms.
