    An Akron woman who spent two years in Papua, New Guinea, is sharing her experiences in her newly published book.

Margel Lee Craig, 69, relates her time with the Peace Corps in the book "The Killing Stones: Two years in A Papua New Guinea Jungle Village."

    Four lucky youngsters were the winners in Marsh Supermarket's National Kids' Week drawing. According to Marsh store manager Larry Metzger, there were approximately 2,000 entries locally. Grand prize winners Anthony Blue and Vicky Reed won new bicycles. Other winners were Paula Shuey, who won a game, and Lane Lingofelter, winner of a basketball.

    Loren Wing, North Manchester florist, has been appointed by the North Manchester town board to a three-year term as member of the school board. He succeeds Clyde Eckhart, who has served three terms on the board.

    Stargazers are having their inning right now. The pastime is a nightly search for the Pons-Winnickle Comet. The comet made its appearance in an almost easterly direction and when it came up was scarcely visible to the naked eye. Many of the gazers were able to see the stranger, however, by the use of small field glasses.
