The Kosciusko County representatives at the recent Mr. and Miss Tri-State competition fared very well, with Steve Sponseller, Rt. 8, Warsaw, bringing home the first place trophy and the title "Mr. Tri-State." Steve also won a gold belt buckle. Terri Cox, Rt. 6, Warsaw, placed third in the competition for Miss Tri-State, which was quite an accomplishment, because at 11 years old, she was the youngest participant.

Aviation Pilot Oscar Crabill, 35, Huntington, and Arthur Coblentz, 45, Liberty Mills, fell 300 feet in a tail spin and with their plane crashed through the roof of a farm house near Akron, and escaped practically unscathed.

Shortly after they crawled out of their ship into the second story room of the Nelson Rader farm house, they were both assisting in removing the plane, the tail of which protruded out the roof like an embedded arrow shaft.
