Students honored recently at Awards Day at Lincoln Elementary are Eric Frankowski, honor patrol and sixth-grade outstanding achievement award; Krista Johnson, sixth-grade outstanding achievement award; and Christina Trueblood, honor patrol.
Leroy Bennett knocked in a hole-in-one at Rozella Ford Golf Course during the Wednesday Night Golf League. Using a No. 2 iron, Bennett smacked it in on the 205-yard par three No. 11 hole.
Wilma E. Howard, 1622 E. Center St., Our Town, and Carolyn B. Chapple, Silver Lake, are newly initiated members of Eta Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, national honorary fraternity, at Purdue University. Second semester juniors majoring in education who are in the upper fourth of their class are eligible.
It's going to rain candy in Warsaw next Thursday. This unusual form of precipitation will be produced by Captain Dallas M. Speer, nationally famed aviator, who will circle over the city several times in his big Baby Ruth airplane and drop a large number of candy bars, attached to small parachutes, as he flies over the residential district.
