    Lakeland Christian Academy administrator John Craig has announced the names of the 1990 recipients of the LCA Sixth Grade Award. Recipients are Amy Doron and Marty Turner, both 1990 graduates of Warsaw Christian School.

Amy is the daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Dale Doron, Warsaw, and Marty is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Turner, Warsaw.

    Three dogs and a duck were named the top contenders in the Leesburg Days pet contest. Joe Armey, Rt. 5, Warsaw, entered his dog, which was judged the prettiest; Kraig Allen, Leesburg, with his duck, the most unusual pet in the contest; Larry Bennett, Warsaw, and his well-trained dog, which judges said represented the best relationship between master and pet; and Leah Lozier, of Chapman Lake, with her tiny Dachshund, the smallest pet in the contest.

    North Buffalo and North High streets, from Center to Main, were opened for vehicle travel for the first time in the past several days. Employees of the city street department have completed their blacktop resurfacing job over the old bricks.

    The Warsaw American Legion ordered their new white pantaloons and blue sash with white gaiter uniforms and hope to have them in time for their appearance on the July Fourth program at Winona Lake. Twenty-five uniforms were ordered.
