A carrier pigeon found on the farm of George Perry, northwest of Wakarusa, came to this country from France. The pigeon, in a weakened condition, was found by Perry's grandson, Laurel Helminger. A band on the bird's leg bore the number 382754, and the name of the owner and an address in France. The Helminger boy's father wrote to the address, and received a reply from France. The letter stated that the bird bearing the number had disappeared from its home in France nearly a year ago. It is believed to have found its way to America on some vessel.
