There is a very unusual hosiery display in Bolinger's window that is attracting a lot of attention to the passers-by. A sack of sugar weighing 100 pounds was borrowed from the Robinson market and is suspended from the ceiling by a single "Bobolink" silk stocking. One small boy stated that it would not be possible for the silk stocking to hold up that much weight. He thought the sack was filled with cotton, so he was allowed to step into the window and try to lift the sack. He soon found that he could not lift it. It actually is a 100-pound weight and proves that this marvelous stocking has unusual strength and wearing qualities.
