    Spec. Bryan R. Runyan has been decorated with the Army Achievement Medal at Fort Knox, Ky.

The Achievement Medal is awarded to soldiers for meritorious service, acts of courage or other accomplishments. Runyan is a fighting vehicle system mechanic with the 15th Infantry. He is the son of David E. Runyan, Warsaw.

    An open house on June 22 will mark the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. Penrod, North Manchester, at their home on CR 1000N, one mile east of State Road 13.

The former Beulah Cauffman and Walter Penrod were married June 14, 1925, in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Levi Cauffman, of near Claypool.

    George Funk, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chester Funk, Leesburg, is home from Portsmouth, Va., for a 30- day furlough. He was accompanied by his wife and little daughter. Mr. Funk, who has been in the Navy for the past six years, has re-enlisted for another four years. He is now pharmacist mate at the naval hospital at Portsmouth.
