Rob Boley is a retired vice president of First National Bank in Warsaw, but recently he shed his hometown cares and served as an intern to Congressman John Hiler. Boley and his wife, Mildred, spent a week in Washington, D.C. Boley was among approximately 200 others seniors from congressional districts nationwide asked to serve this spring.
Commissioner Gilliam, who drove 750 miles to see the Indianapolis 500 auto spectacle this year by making the trip three times, was caught napping in the trunk of his car by traveling companion Bill Chapel, also of Warsaw, after Gilliam parked his car for the third day on speedway infield turf. Grinning, Gilliam explains the trunk was the only place left to stretch out when the rest of his passengers relaxed in the car before the start of the ill-fated race.
Morrison Rockhill, of Warsaw, will serve as an alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention to be held in Philadelphia. He was elected at a caucus of the Second District state convention delegates held in the state house in Indianapolis.
Noah Frantz, who has the contract for the erection of the school building at Pierceton, has a great deal of material on hand for the work, and two steam shovels have been busily engaged in the excavating for the basement.
