    LEESBURG - Matt Winger fired a hole-in-one Thursday while playing at the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club.

Winger, of Silver Lake, aced the 173-yard, No. 3 hole using a 5-iron. Witnessing the shot were Dave Nicol, Ken Traylor and Phil Flinn.

    The Warsaw Optimist Club "Boy of the Year" award was given for the second straight year to Terry Woodling. Terry, a seventh-grader at Warsaw Middle School, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Woodling, 910 E. Market St., Warsaw. He received a $50 gift certificate from the Optimists and a trophy from Baker Boys' Club.

    Mrs. Theodore Frazer, East Center Street in Our Town, has returned from a two-month trip abroad, visiting the countries around the Mediterranean Sea, including Spain, France, Italy, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria, Trans Jordan and Greece. In Trans Jordan she spent some time at Jerusalem. A visit to the Pyramids and the Sphinx in Egypt was also included in her itinerary. Mrs. Frazer and Mrs. Fred Brown, Anderson, traveled together, crossing on the Exeter, of the American Export line.

    Kosciusko County individual marksmen won great honors at Indianapolis while the team took second place in pistol shooting there Monday.

Milo Maloy, George Mowery, Glen Harmon, Ora Stempel and Estel Frank returned last night from Fort Ben Harrison, where they took part in the third annual contest of the Vigilantes, the bank deputies of Indiana, in pistol and rifle practice.
