June 12 1994

    LEESBURG - A Leesburg Elementary School fifth-grader was recognized by his city and state for being a true hero.

In an emotional ceremony in front of Leesburg students from grades three through six, state representative David Wolkins read the commendation from the Indiana House of Representative to Mark Alspaugh. The impressive framed statement honored Mark for heroic effort in saving his father's life when the sides of a ditch collapsed on him.

June 12 1979

    Selected to represent the entire county this year as the 1979 Kosciusko County Senior Citizen Queen is Bessie Replogle, 66, of Winona Lake.

She was selected as the queen candidate to represent the Warsaw Senior Citizens last month. First runner-up in the competition is Anna Cripe, who represents the Milford Senior Citizens, and second runner-up is Florence Ashton, who was sponsored by Syracuse Senior Citizens.

June 12 1954

    Jo Ann Royer, Johanna Wright, Gaynelle La Rue, Donna Grubbs, Linda Wagner, Donna Shaw and Linda Jordan gave demonstrations at a meeting of the North Webster 4-U 4-H club held recently at the North Webster High School.

Refreshments were served by Patty Enyeart, Linda Jordan, Donna Grubbs and Donna Shaw.

June 12 1929

    Earl Lloyd Klinger, A.B. Indiana University, 1924, has received his A.M. degree from Illinois University this June. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. Klinger, who reside northwest of Warsaw, and a graduate of the Atwood High School.
