    Dorothy VanCleve has been recognized by the Indiana State Reading Association for her contributions to reading and literacy.

VanCleve is a member of the Tippkee Reading Council. Her support of lifelong reading interest and habits is seen in her involvement in teaching and in volunteering as a literacy tutor.

    Lucille Wood and Linda Sheets have been chosen for the Employee of the Month Award at Miller's Merry Manor. These two outstanding ladies were chosen on the basis of attendance, attitude, job performance and the ability to get along with others.

    Mrs. Herschel Albert, junior past matron, was honored and initiated into membership at the recent meeting of the Leesburg Past Matron's Club of the Order of Eastern Star held at the Masonic Hall in Leesburg.

Mrs. Robert Davis presided and the election of officers resulted as follows: Mrs. Fred Stookey, president; Mrs. Dean Ferverda, vice president; and Mrs. Hugh McCann, secretary and treasurer.

    Walter Pape brought to The Times a fine bouquet this forenoon. The varieties represented are delphiniums, golardia, pinks, ragged robins, calendula, and constitute an old-fashioned collection that would be hard to duplicate for beauty of color in the floral kingdom.
