    The Indiana Insurance Co. announced Hall & Marose as a winner of its prestigious annual President's Award. The winning agency principals were recently honored for service excellence, outstanding growth and profitability at a special conference and outing attended by the company's senior staff held at the Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, Tenn.

June 10 1979

    LARWILL - The Larwill Wesleyan Church, North and King streets, will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a special birthday service.

The church was founded on June 13, 1879, as the Larwill Wesleyan Methodist by the Rev. Aaron North with seven members. A hall was rented for regular services while the present building was constructed at a cost of $1,850, which was completed and dedicated on Dec. 28, 1879.

June 10 1954

    Seems as though Warsaw's Chief of Police Don Snyder was so busy "manhunting" that when he pulled up in front of the county jail he forgot to put his small change in the parking meter. It didn't take long for a ticket to be planted on the windshield. Officer Frank Juterbock tells us that Chief Snyder is now in the "paying" category and will have to pay or suffer consequences.

June 10 1929

    The Sikorsky Amphibian two-motored biplane, "Country Boy," which had a forced landing recently in Winona Lake, has just completed its trip from New York to Detroit, Toledo, Winona Lake, St. Louis, down the Mississippi to New Orleans and back to New York via the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Coast. Sixteen hops were made, some on land and some on water, says a page advertisement in the New Yorker advertising the Sikorsky ships for sportsmen.
