    BOURBON - Triton senior Jonny Haywood and junior Justina Reichert received the top honors during the Triton Jr.-Sr. High School Sports Awards Banquet.

Haywood and Reichert were saluted as the top spring athletes of the year at Triton.

    Maryjane Gast is the Times-Union Calendar Girl for June. Maryjane, 18, is a 1977 graduate of Warsaw Community High School and lives with her father, Robert W. Gast, 1003 Country Club Road. Future plans include nursing school this fall.

June 1 1952

    Kenneth Parks, trustee of Prairie Township, announced the appointment of Alvin Smith as head athletic coach at Atwood High School. Smith has been coaching at Lagro High School in Wabash County for the past four years.

The new mentor will succeed Abe Hoogenboom, who resigned recently in order to become coach at Mentone High School. 75 Year Ago About 75 neighbors and friends with their families gathered at the farm of Mr. and Mrs. William Shock, north of Warsaw, on Tuesday afternoon for an old fashioned "barn raising." This consists of all of the men present falling to and in one afternoon having the frame work for a new barn structure completed. After the work was finished ice cream and cake was served. Otto Biers, Milford, is contractor for the barn.
