    The Warsaw Community High School counseling office will host an open house to honor retiring teacher and counselor Del Bunnell June 5 in the high school commons. Bunnell leaves Warsaw Community High School after 33 years and 42 total years of teaching.

    Vincent Romeo Jr. has been appointed head football coach at Wawasee Prep. Romeo is an English teacher at the school and has spent the past two years as the Lakers' defensive coach.

June 1 1948

    Lester Ball, member of the Warsaw volunteer fire department, discovered that his automobile needed a new paint job. Ball parked the car only a block away from the Rochelle Furniture Co. plant while fighting the fire there. One of the many lacquer drums that exploded fell on his car, covering it with lacquer thinner. Mr. Ball, thinking that his car was merely dirty, started to wipe the "dirt" off his vehicle. When he rubbed the lacquer thinner, it took quite a bit of paint off his car.

    Two fine tennis courts are being built for public use on the city grounds just west of the community building. City employees were today hauling dirt from the commercial telephone building for the new courts.
