    In an effort to assist Mayor Plank with his campaign to clean up the language in the city, Breading's Cigar Store has initiated its own program.

Breading's chief chef Burleigh Burgh will implement a project coined "SIBP" on Monday. The effort (officially known as "swearing in Breading's prohibited") will run for 30 days, and any winners will be entitled to a "brand new dollar bill," according to Burgh.

    Residents on Country Club Drive might have been surprised to see Indiana Republican Senator Richard Lugar out for a 6:30 a.m. jog this morning with some friends. Running with Lugar were Ted Pinnick, Rex Reed and Margaret Rockhill, all of Warsaw, and Scott and Steve Miller, both of Fort Wayne.

    Lora Belle Burt, Nappanee, head of district 20 of the Order of the Eastern Star, was honored at a reception given by the Warsaw OES Chapter at a called meeting held Tuesday evening at the Masonic Temple.

Her mother, Mrs. Seward Poor, Etna Green, pinned on her the corsage, presented to her with the gift from the Warsaw OES chapter. Mrs. J.E. Lambert Jr. made the presentation.

    Ivan Kline, Milford, recent candidate for the Republican nomination for state representative, was named constable today by the board of county commissioners for Van Buren Township. The appointment was made in response to a petition file by Dr. E. Stockberger and 12 others.
