    Dede Goshert and Marilyn Gay took top honors in the Rozella Ford 18 hole Ladies Association play. Play of the day was two-ball best-ball.

Finishing second were Pauline Goshert and Sondra Dicken while teams of Nancy Stromberg and Mary Steele and Lottie Zimmer and Pauline Becher tied for third.

    Pierceton won the championship of the Land-O-Lakes Pony League tournament by defeating Leesburg 1-0 at South Whitley. Members of the team, which also won the regular season crown, include, Jeff Boggs, Daniel Boggs, Mark Mort, Frankie Walter, Randy Rose, Tim Smith, Tony Boggs, Joe Howard, Tim Mort, Mike Conley, Dale Mort, Roger Boggs, Jeff Rostochak, Rex Kreger, Mike Rostochak, Billy Reffitt, Doug Folk and Todd Cone. Don Boggs is the coach, assisted by Michael Rostochak.

July 31 1950

    Jay Bates was elected president of the Bourbon Township Future Farmers of America at a recent meeting. Other officers chosen were: Austin Rogers, vice president; Herman Rettinger, secretary; Don Lemler, treasurer; Norman Nifong, reporter; and Argyle Brock, sentinel. It was decided to have a wiener roast with the Bourbon Sunshine girls and Future Homemakers of America.

    Lakes of Kosciusko County attracted 822 non-resident fishermen here in the month of July, according to the license report of County Clerk Russell Butler. The number is almost identical with that of last year.
