    Warsaw's Janice Anne Keeton recently performed with country singer Louise Mandrell at the new Honeywell Center Entertainment Center, Wabash. Janice Anne performed a Patsy Cline tune during the show, and Mandrell dedicated a song to Janice Anne and her fianc, Michael Cook.

July 3 1979

    NORTH WEBSTER - Cris Brandenburg, a Manchester College basketball player, relied on his specialty to pull out a victory in the eighth annual Tournament of Knights at the Mermaid Festival here Saturday afternoon.

The Manchester High School graduate scored 19 out of a possible 20 points in the basketball phase of the competition to help him score a total of 75 points, six better than the 69 scored by Roger Boggs of Pierceton, who finished in second place.

    A/3c J.R. Swanson, son of Mr. and Mrs. T.W. Swanson, Atwood, is en route to Korea.

Swanson was processed at Parks AFB, Calif., for shipment overseas. A graduate of Atwood High School, he enlisted in the air force in February 1953, and recently completed a course at the radio fundamentals school, Scott AFB, Ill.

    The piano pupils of Nellie Kilian who received awards of merit for the quarter closing July 1 were: Sybil Taylor, Martha Bartol, Barbara Dickey, Sally Eschbach, Helen Peterson, Mary Belle Thomas, four points each; Sarah Jane Nye, Ruth Jane Arnold, John Vanator, Donella Cochran, Frances Jean Hibben, five points each.
